Sunday, and look at the weather! We threw the car back on the ferry to pick up where we left off last night. This is looking back at Bellagio.

And looking over at Menaggio.

Looking north towards the Alps.

And looking, I don't know, somewhere else - nice!

This is Villa del Balbianello in Lenno, just south of Menaggio. This thing was built in 1787 and is most famous for its gardens, which have featured in a number of movies including Stars Wars Episode II and the James Bond flick Casino Royale.

Not bad, not bad at all; bloody nice in fact!

Nice day to get your ass out.

Looking south along the lake's western leg from the villa.

Good day for a bit of posing by the water too hehe.

We left Lenno and continued southwest along the shore, passing several other cute wee towns along the way. And that in a nutshell is Lake Como. You could easily spend several days here and not get bored - there is plenty more to see and do that we didn't have the time for: swimming, kayaking, mountain biking, the restaurant scene etc. - it's a great spot!

From the lake we drove into Milan for lunch. I'd been to Milan only once before for a very random 60-minute run around (full story of that randomness here). The shot on the left is the Duomo - the fourth-largest cathedral in the world, and taking five centuries to complete!

We had no idea what this was all about, some random street show. Milan, it's been nothing but random for me hehe. Based on what we saw of the place during the drive in and out, the 60-minutes last time and the lunch today was probably sufficient to tick this box, seeing as I'm hardly Mr Fashionable.

The drive from Milan to the Cinque Terra took another couple hours, by which point it was late and we were hungry! I'll explain the Cinque Terre in a bit, but Kristina and I drove to Vernazza to find some dinner, one of its villages down on the Italian Riviera.

One of the locals, stealing the neighbour's internet.

180-degree view from the harbour.
