Sunday - our last full day of riding, and true to form I was hot to trot within about five minutes whereas Davydd took half an hour.

Eventually the recycling bin was unceremoniously dumped out the back of the hotel, and all of Davydd's crap simply tied in a very dodgy manner to his rack hehe.

Lost his drink bottle, again.

Utrecht was completely dead when we left. Everybody was at church perhaps.

We stopped at the first service station we found for some random Dutch breakfast. This was like a potato salad sort of thing - quite good!

Due to Davydd's pissing and moaning about biking through suburbia, we started out on main roads for the first 30kms or so. Nice enough views and all, but I can see green fields in London if I really wanted to - I can't see Dutch neighbourhoods!

I re-routed the GPS back onto the 'nice' RouteYou.com routes - much more interesting and random and Dutch :)

Before we left London, Dav had heard of a little town that was famous for its windmills. After a river crossing and 15kms of a relentless head-wind, we eventually made it.

Kinderdijk is a little village about 15kms east of Rotterdam (our destination for the night). Kinderdijk is situated in a polder at the confluence of two rivers. To drain the polder, a system of 19 windmills was built around 1740. This group of mills is the largest concentration of old windmills in the Netherlands, a UNESO World Heritage site, and one of the best-known Dutch tourist sites.

He was still a bit stoned after last night ;)

The recycling bin got unceremoniously dumped in a back alley in Utrecht. Some citizen of Holland I'm sure now has a City of Westminster souveneir!

Is Dav sourcing us a new recycling bin then? I don't want to put my plastics and bottles in his 'bike rack'.
