After getting up at 4am (ouch) for a 7am, 2.5-hour flight via Birmingham, I eventually made it to Paris - the city of love, romance, public displays of affection, car horns, sirens, touch-parking, cyclists with no helmets or lights, mopeds, litter, hot chicks, patisseries, cheese, sex shops, graffiti, weirdoes singing and preaching on the metro trains, and Africans illegally selling souvenirs (and getting arrested for it hahaha). I absolutely loved it! :) My first mission was finding Mo (who was on a different flight) in Charles de Gaulle Airport and then deciphering the French on the ticket machine to get a train into town.

Ahhh France, the land of frogs! ;)

This was shot at the top of the Eiffel Tower. I'm a long way from home!

Basilique du Sacré Cœur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) dating bck to 1919, just up the hill from our hostel.

The view looking south from Basilique du Sacré Cœur atop Montmartre Hill - the highest point in the city.

We went for a big wander around our area in which we were staying (Montmartre), bloody pretty and I was really wanting the bike!

Yum, look at this unhealthy shit - we could only resist temptation for so long!

If it sits still for too long, chances are someone will graffiti it hahaha!

Horny? Come to Montmartre! This is but a few of the many sex shops in the area.

Front and rear of Notre Dame. Construction began in 1163, and 200 years later they ended up with this. During the 19th century, city planners contemplated tearing it down as it was pretty old and buggered. Then French novelist Victor Hugo wrote his novel "The Humpback of Notre-Dame", creating renewed interest in the cathedral's fate and ultimately a campaign to collect funds for its restoration.

These guys overlook the main entrance. I wonder what the one on the ground did to deserve that?

The interior of Notre Dame is massive, and very gothic. It was a bit too full of tourists to be a good place for chatting with the big man above.

Check out the windows - these alone were ten years in the making!

For a small price you can climb a couple million steps to the top of the cathedral for some pretty nice views. The shot on the left is looking west towards the Eiffel Tower, and the shot on the right is looking east along the Seine River (Seine rhymes with "Ten").

I'd make a great gargoyle!
